ISP seizes 30 pounds of marijuana during traffic stop

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Indiana State Police seized 30 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on Logan Street Thursday evening.

A trooper conducted a traffic stop on a 2018 Kia after witnessing the driver commit several traffic violations.

During the traffic stop, K-9 Nala alerted to the smell of drugs on the vehicle, police said.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 30 pounds of suspected marijuana in vacuum sealed packages, police said.

The front seat passenger, 27-year-old Anthony Garcia, was taken into custody on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana and dealing marijuana.
