ISP: Semi driver likely died from medical event

BREMEN, Ind. -- The preliminary investigation into the fatal semi accident in Bremen Monday suggests the driver had a medical event that caused him to drive off the road.
The accident happened just before 11 a.m. on US 6 just west of the Miami Road intersection near Bremen. The truck drove off the north side of the highway and into a field.
When troopers arrived, they located the driver, Edward E Heward, 51, of Romney West Virginia, slumped over and unresponsive.
CPR was administered, but emergency personnel were unable to revive him.
