ISpy: Have you seen a snowy owl in your neighborhood?

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- There have been more sightings of an owl that is rare to the Michiana area.



They are known as snowy owls.



Kids may recognize them from the Harry Potter movie franchise, but the owls usually stay close to the arctic.



Recently, they have been spotted in Michigan City near the lighthouse as well as in several areas along the Indiana Dunes.



Naturalists said the birds had a large number of offspring last year, and there is not enough food in their traditional habitat to support them.
