IU receives multi-million-dollar grant to fight food insecurity

INDIANAPOLIS- The National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities awarded a $2.9 million grant to IU's School of Medicine, where they are working to decrease food insecurity and increase the quality of life for Hoosiers.

Researchers will begin a new study with 200 participants in Indianapolis with the main goal of lowering blood pressure.

Secondary benefits the study will monitor include food security and nutrition, and changes in behavior related to self-management and food resource skills.
