SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Indiana University South Bend and Central Midwest Carpenters announced a historic, department-wide jersey sponsorship on Monday.

Executive Director of IUSB Athletics Scott Cooper believes this move will have a positive effect in shaping the future for titan athletics, while setting an important precedent for other schools around the country.

“For us, I feel like that’s one of the most exciting things is not only what we can do with the opportunities this sponsorship creates now,” Cooper said. “This also demonstrates that to other sponsors down the line.

The NAIA is made up of 250 colleges and universities across the country and Canada.

Of those 250, there is a little more than a handful to have successfully completed a department wide jersey sponsorship like IUSB.

The first, being Grace College out of Kosciusko County in 2024, as they inked a historic three-year jersey sponsorship with Zimmer Biomet becoming the first U.S. College to do so.

“To our knowledge there are seven other institutions that have a department wide jersey sponsorship,” Cooper said. “We just found out recently that ours was the largest.”

If you want to see this brand-new era of the titan jersey sponsorship in action, the women’s volleyball team will play host to the Viterbo V-Hawks for a home match on Wednesday, August 21.
