IUSB holds gun law discussion

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- IU South Bend held an open discussion on the gun control debate Thursday on campus.

The goal was to invite students and the general public to discuss any potential changes to gun laws, ammo restrictions and the country's mental health laws.

As expected, the crowd got into a few heated arguments.

"Certainly there was no agreement and we didn't expect an agreement but we wanted to get some dialogue going so people can think about the complexity of this issue," said Elizabeth Bennion, IUSB American Democracy.

Thursday's forum was presented by the IUSB American Democracy group.
