IUSB hosting watch party for final Democratic debate before Iowa
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The American Democracy Project of IU South Bend is hosting a debate watch party for the final Democratic presidential debate before the start of primary voting season begins on February 3 in Iowa.
Organizers of the non-partisan organization says tonight's watch party is meant to promote civic education and political engagement among voters.
Six candidates, including former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, have qualified for the debate. It's the smallest and least diverse stage so far, with no candidates of color qualifying for or dropping out of the race ahead of it.
ADP's debate party begins at 8:30 p.m. and is being held at the River Crossing Student Housing Community Building located at 1735 Titan Dr.
Free pizza, snacks, and soft drinks will be available. There will be a photo booth and debate watch bingo too.
