IUSB students graduate at Joyce Center

SOUTH BEND — Over a thousand degrees were handed out at IU South Bend's graduation ceremony Tuesday.

Some interesting facts about this year's class:

• There is a husband and a wife who are graduating together.
• One woman who graduated high school with a 1.9 GPA went straight to the Marines. Now ten years later, she is graduating from IUSB with a 3.9 GPA.
• The first woman from Africa to receive a computer science degree from IUSB did so just five years after she emigrated from Zimbabwe after being laid off.

The ceremony was held at the Joyce Center on Notre Dame's campus.
