Jarrod Spigutz found guilty of murder
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- An Elkhart County jury has found Jarrod Spigutz guilty of the murder of Jared Foltz in May 2017.
Foltz was found dead in the driver's seat of his vehicle in the parking lot of Menards on Windsor Avenue around 7:30 p.m. on May 28.
Several witnesses told police the suspect was driving a Toyota Camry with damage to the front bumper.
Less than 10 minutes later, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a Toyota Camry with a similar description.
During a subsequent search of the Spigutz's vehicle, police found a Taurus 9 mm semi automatic handgun.
Spigutz spoke with police and allegedly admitted to shooting Foltz. He told police he got into Foltz's Jeep to purchase marijuana. Spigutz said Foltz asked for his marijuana back so he shot Foltz.
Sentencing is scheduled for February 15.
