Jermaine Newsome found guilty in home invasion shooting

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.—A jury found Jermaine Newsome Jr. guilty of all three charges on October 3 in connection with a home invasion and shooting that occurred on June 29, according to court records.

Newsome, 19, was found guilty of burglary resulting in bodily injury, criminal recklessness, and battery by means of a deadly weapon after a four-day jury trial.

According to court records, Newsome will be sentenced on November 1.

Newsome was involved in a June 29 home invasion of an apartment on Putnam Place that resulted in one person being shot and injured, the probable cause affidavit said.
