NOW: Jimmies seek revenge for week six loss to Tippecanoe Valley

ELKHART, Ind. -- They say you want to play your best football right before the playoffs, and clearly, Jimtown got that memo. They head into the postseason riding a three-game win streak, and looking to keep that momentum going against Tippecanoe Valley.

Almost exactly a month ago, the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings came into Sharpe Stadium and eked out a two point 17 to 15 victory over Jimtown. Since then, the Jimmies have had some time to think, or perhaps stew, on that loss, and Friday night is their chance at revenge.

"They're a good team, everybody knows they're a good team, they're ranked in 3A, they still make mistakes like every other team. We learned that we can make those mistakes happen, when we play as good as we can," said Nathan Guthrie, senior running back.

But just like how Tippecanoe Valley has improved since these two teams last matched up, so has Jimtown.

"Just knowing their personnel a little bit more, and knowing kind of what they want to do, and shoot, them knowing what we want to do, on both sides of the ball. I do kind of like going in as the underdog, obviously, we wanted to win in week six, we would've been conference champs if we had did that, but I like being the underdog and going in and everyone is counting us out," said Cody Vincent, Jimtown head coach.

The Jimmies have been able to formulate their game plan by learning from some of the mistakes they made in the week six matchup, and not letting those errors happen again.

"We can take advantage of the game just by making plays that are there, we didn't make the plays that we needed to in week six, and as long as we can capitalize on whenever they do make a mistake, we'll be alright," said Vincent.

"Jimtown is known, we have a reputation for running, and hard nose football, we'll come punch you in the face, all four quarters," said Guthrie.

The Vikings and Jimmies will kick off from Sharpe Stadium Friday night at 7 p.m.
