NILES, Mich. -- Fernwood Botanical Garden will host a range of community events in June, including a Father’s Day celebration, National Pollinator Week activities, and a special Summer Solstice gathering.

Father’s Day will be celebrated on Sunday, June 15, with guided tours highlighting the flora, fauna, and natural features of the preserve. Specials prepared by the Grateful Pie Company will be offered at the Father’s Day café.

National Pollinator Week runs June 17–22, during which visitors can join a community science project or engage in pollinator-themed activities. A drop-in station will be open during regular hours, with guided sessions from 1 to 2 p.m.

A special dining experience will take place on Thursday, June 19, at Granor Farm in Three Oaks. The evening includes a conversation with Fernwood’s Executive Director Mary Krinock and Director of Education Michelle McCoskey, followed by a multi-course dinner. Tickets are $150, with proceeds benefiting Fernwood.

On Friday, June 20, the garden will host a Summer Solstice Celebration from 1 to 4 p.m. featuring solar-themed activities such as making suncatchers, sampling herbal teas, and experimenting with sun prints.

The Fernwood Summer Concert Series returns Saturday, June 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. with a performance by the Redbud Ramblers, a local string band playing folk, bluegrass, and Americana music.
