Jury finds woman guilty of killing 17-year-old Allen Williams

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- A 38-year-old woman was convicted of killing 17-year-old Allen Williams at apartment complex on Curtiss Drive in June 2020, according to court records.

A jury found Kristy Lynn Hawkins, 38, guilty of murder after a trial that lasted three days.

Hawkins was also found to have used a firearm in the offense.

She will be sentenced on April 20.

On June 13, 2020, police were called to the 3400 block of Curtiss Drive for reports of shots fired and that someone had been hit.

The victim, 17-year-old Allen Williams was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Witnesses told investigators that during a gathering of people in a parking lot on Curtiss Drive, an argument between Hawkins and another woman broke out, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Hawkins went to her car and came back with a handgun, which witnesses reported she fired multiple times and struck Williams, reports said.

Witnesses said they did not see anyone else with a handgun and no one else fired any weapons, reports said.
