Just in time for Halloween, former movie set designer opens costume shop

STEVENSVILLE, Mich. -- They are creepy. They are spooky. And all in time for Halloween too.

The new art gallery of sorts in Berrien County is from Stevensville native John Lovell.

The former movie set designer opened Choatic Creations Tuesday in downtown Stevensville.

The store sells latex masks and skeletons, most of which is made of scratch.

"Being able to offer something a little bit different than you'd find at your big Halloween stores is kind of my goal," Lovell said.

Lovell says he makes copies of some of his designs to keep the cost down but he also has a studio to make custom Halloween masks.
