Juvenile detained following burglary in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – A juvenile was detained following a burglary at a business on Saturday, the South Bend Police Department reported.

On Saturday afternoon, officers responded to a burglary alarm at a business in the 300 block of S. Lafayette Boulevard.

At the scene, officers found a broken window and shattered glass on the sidewalk.

The business owner arrived to the scene, giving officers surveillance video showing the suspect breaking a window to get inside the building.

Not far from the scene, officers found the suspect carrying items that were reported stolen in the break-in, police said.

The juvenile was taken to the Juvenile Justice Center.

Police returned the stolen items to the business owner.
