13-year-old injured in drive-by shooting

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Detectives are investigating a drive-by shooting that took place Friday night which left a 13-year-old injured.

South Bend Police were dispatched at approximately 8:30 p.m. to an area hospital where a 13-year-old male arrived with a non-life threatening wound to his upper thigh.

The victim told authorities that he was walking near Fairview Avenue when an unknown, dark-colored vehicle drove past him and began shooting.

The South Bend Police Investigative Bureau is looking into the case.
