"Kandy" whole cantaloupe recalled due to a potential Salmonella contamination

A voluntary recall of 6,456 cases of whole cantaloupe is being recalled due to a potential Salmonella contamination. 

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Eagle Produce LLC, from Scottsdale, Arizona, recalled their cantaloupe after an FDA led test in the distribution center. 

Salmonella can cause fever, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea and can sometimes be fatal to children, elderly adults or people with weakened immune systems. 

Keep an eye out for "Kandy" brand cantaloupe, UPC code 4050, with lot codes: 797901, 797900 and 804918. 

Products were distributed between September 5 and September 16 in California, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Washington D.C. and sold in various retail supermarkets.

Customers who've purchased this product are urged to dispose of it. 

The company is cooperating with FDA and no related illnesses have been reported.
