Kawasaki recall on engines in riding lawn mowers
MISHAWAKA, Ind.- Kawasaki Motors USA recalled the engines sold in Ferris and SCAG brands of riding lawn mowers Thursday due to the fuel line potentially posing burn and fire hazards, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
The CPSC added, if the high-pressure fuel line is damaged by contact with the fuel pump cover, a fuel leak is possible.
Consumers are urged to stop using these mowers immediately and contact Kawasaki or one of its dealers to schedule a free repair.
The recalled engines are in the following mowers:
- Ferris brand
- Model # IS 700Z ZTR
- Model # ISX 800Z ZTR
- Model # ISX 2200Z ZTR
- SCAG brand
- Tiger Cat II model
- V- Ride II model
The CPSC reported approximately 33,000 units were sold.
Kawasaki FT730V EFI is printed on the engine air filter cover, according to the CPSC.
