Kelly: Improvement still needed in some areas

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Irish are now 4-2 this season after winning Saturday night 37-34 over Arizona State.  Coach Brian Kelly held his weekly media call Sunday and talked about the win for the Irish.

The Irish are headed into a bye week, but that doesn't mean the Irish will rest.

Coach Kelly says there are things the team needs to improve on.

"I felt our defense was playing well enough for us to win, and I still feel that way. There are things that we have to continue to improve on," said Coach Kelly. "Nobody was happy with the last drive. Coach Diaco was not happy. Our players were not happy. But we think there are things that we can take from it."

Coach Kelly also discussed post season games, saying that right now the team is just focusing on winning Saturday games.

Notre Dame's next opponent is USC at home on Oct. 19.
