Kern Road closed due to gas leak

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -
Firefighters have closed Kern Road east of 331 because of a gas leak.
Penn Fire says a private contractor was installing fiber optic cable when he struck a gas line.
It is expected to take crews a few hours to repair the broken line.
Kern Road east of 331 will be closed until repairs are made.
