Kerry to give first foreign policy speech

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Secretary of State John Kerry will give his first foreign speech since joining President Obama's cabinet.

Secretary Kerry will deliver a speech to students and faculty at the University of Virginia.

One of his topics will include connections between the lives of ordinary Americans.

The speech precedes his first overseas trip as Secretary of State.

He is scheduled to make a nine nation visit to Europe and the Middle East.
