The manhunt for the inmate accidentally released from an Indiana jail, Kevin Mason, comes to an end today.
The Marion County Sheriff's office confirmed the news in a Facebook post today, stating that Mason was apprehended in St. Paul, Minn. by the U.S. Marshal Service around 2:00 p.m. on September 27.
Mason, was arrested on three Minnesota warrants, including suspicion of murder, on September 11, 2023, but due to an error, he was released days later.
A records clerk, thinking they were correcting duplicate bookings, removed two holds on Mason's file, and the next day, a different clerk lifted the final hold.
The two inmate record clerks have been fired.
Mason is now behind bars in Minnesota.
