Kohl’s is recalling over half a million candles because they can pose a fire hazard, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

SONOMA Goods For Life branded three-wick candles in a variety of models and scents are included in the recall.

The CPSC said that about 512,000 units are included in the recall.

The candles come in glass containers with metal lids. The candle’s high flames can ignite the surface of the wax or cause the glass to break, posing fire and burn hazards, according to the CPSC.

Kohl’s has received 29 reports involving high flames and/ or breaking glass containers with the three-wick candles, including five incidents resulting in minor burn injuries and six incidents involving minor property damage, according to the CPSC.

The candles were sold at stores nationwide and on Kohl's website from December 2019 through October 2020 for about $20.

Consumers who have the candles included in the recall should stop using them and return them to Kohl’s.

Visit the CPSC’s website for the full recall alert, including all candle models and scents included in it.
