Snow showers from Lake Michigan will continue this evening, mainly across southwest Michigan and far northern Indiana. It will be cold tonight, with temperatures falling into the 20s. An additional inch or two of accumulation is possible into Friday morning. Lake effect snow showers should wrap up for most by lunchtime on Black Friday.

A winter storm will then bear down on Michiana beginning Saturday afternoon. Snow will be light to moderate to start, but by Saturday evening, heavy snow is likely. Travel conditions will start to worsen after 3 pm Saturday, so if you can be off of the roads by that time, please do so.  Heavy snow will continue from Saturday night into Sunday morning. Snow will gradually taper off Sunday afternoon and be done by Sunday evening. Most of Michiana can expect six inches of snow, with areas in Berrien, Cass, and Saint Joseph counties in Michigan likely seeing more than 9 inches of snow accumulation.

At this stage, there does not appear to be a major lake effect response to this winter storm. However, we'll update you as we get closer to the start of next week. Overall, next week looks cold and cloudy with some more snow showers possible by next Friday.

Tonight: Lake effect snow showers. Minor accumulation possible. Cold. Low 25.

Tomorrow (Black Friday): Snow showers end in the morning. Cloudy and cold. High 30.

Saturday: Snow arrives around noon. Heavy snow likely in the evening and into Sunday morning. High 30.
