College officials say that five of the schools' seven athletic programs finished with a combined GPA of 3.0 or higher, qualifying each of them for the MCCAA All-Academic teams.
The Red Hawks’ women’s soccer program claimed the highest total, with a combined GPA of 3.46.
Campus Life and Athletics Director Melissa Grau emphasized that academics Is the top priority for all student-athletes.
“I always tell our student athletes 'paper makes paper', and so in order for them to participate here, they’ve got to get a degree, and we strive for academic excellence,” said Grau.
In total, 53 student-athletes were awarded 2021-2022 MCCAA Academic All-Conference honors.
