LAVEVILLE, Ind. --- A live concert, fireworks, and a great community is what makes up the annual Newton Park Fourth of July Celebration!

“We were looking for a fun activity to do tonight with some live music and dancing and see the fireworks!” says Elizabeth Heyn, a celebration attendee.

“For a lot of families, this has become their fourth of July plans," says Kim Mishler, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Newton Park.

Coming from Muncie, Cook and Belle the live entertainment, added a fun element to tonight's celebration!

“They love being with the crowd, performing in front of the crowd. So tonight, there’s nowhere else I’d rather be," says Shellie Landry, fan of the band and celebration attendee.

With inflation bumping up the cost of fireworks this summer, Mishler says generous donations from the community helped to cover the cost for this year's show.

“We have done a fundraiser to try to raise money to help cover some of the costs, and a lot of people in the community have contributed," says Mishler. "So we’re taking more donations still for next year.”

Eighteen years and counting, the annual Fourth of July celebration is a staple for the Newton Park community.

‘For the Newton family, it’s always been such an important event for them and it’s become a staple in Newton park’s calendar year," Misheler says about the celebration.

"It's very family-oriented, very community-friendly, and it’s just an amazing place," Landry says.
