LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The Indiana Department of Transportation announced lane closures will begin on S.R. 2 between C.R. 600 E and C.R. 700 E/Cougar Road on or after June 3.

INDOT officials say S.R. 2 will be reduced to one lane in each direction for pipe and inlet replacement.

The work is expected to last a week, with alternating lane closures while work is in progress.

Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time when driving through the area and follow traffic directions carefully.

Motorists should slow down, exercise caution, and drive distraction-free through all work zones.
