MENTONE, Ind-- The 80th annual egg festival kicks off in downtown Mentone Friday, May 29 and will run through Saturday, May 30.
This event surrounds the rich history of why this town is called the "Egg Basket of the Midwest."
This year's festival surrounds an ongoing fundraiser for the local Mentzer Park, working to raise around $50,000 for park renovations. If the town meets their goal, they will be able to price match with different grant programs to put more money towards this local hotspot.
The 80th Egg Festival will have many events throughout the weekend from car shows to a parade, this event is family friendly and free to the public.
