Late night shooting leaves authorities with a lot of questions

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend Police are investigating a deadly shooting on the city's east side. It happened Wednesday night just before 11:30 pm on the 300 block of N. Sunnyside. Authorities arrived to find the victim dead inside of a running gray Ford Taurus.

Police have identified the victim as a 32-year-old Julio Ceasar Santos.

Police say Santos was shot several times.

Neighbors called 911after hearing gunshots, but authorities have no known eyewitnesses.

"We're going to continue to canvas the neighborhood. Come daylight, we'll be out here again, talking with neighbors," said Metro Homicide Unit Assistant Commander Dave Wells.
