Layoffs at Newmar in Nappanee
NAPPANEE, Ind. - RV manufacturer Newmar has announced a number of layoffs due in part to decreased customer demand.
Newmar released the following statement:
"In response to recent cyclical shifts in the RV industry including decreased customer demand, dealer inventory levels, and other business considerations, we are balancing the workforce size at Newmar’s Nappanee, Ind. campus. With this adjustment, we had to make the very difficult decision to eliminate a select number of roles at Newmar. The company is assisting affected team members during this period of transition. We remain committed to building luxury motor coaches with superior craftsmanship and unsurpassed quality for our customers and continue to be invested in Indiana and the Nappanee community."
When asked about the recent layoffs, Newmar President, Casey Tubman gave the following statement:
"This was a difficult decision to make, but ultimately, we must remain disciplined as we address the shifting business landscape. We care about our people and are committed to working with impacted employees through this transition.”
