Leak discovered at Palisades Power Plant

COVERT, Mich. -- A leak was discovered last week at the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant.

ABC57 was told the leak was found during a routine inspection on Sept. 20. An inspector found water leaking near service water piping and valves.

The water system draws water from Lake Michigan to cool the pumps.

According to the plant, there is no safety issue and the leak continues to be monitored.
