Learn and shop at 'Woodland Whimsy Holiday Bazaar' at the Elkhart Conservation Club

ELKHART, Ind. - The public is invited to learn about native wildlife and browse the Woodland Whimsy Holiday Bazaar at the Elkhart Conservation Club from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on November 4.

The event is being hosted by the Foxwood Raptor and Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.

Organizers have put out a list of events as follows:

9:30 a.m. - "Anything is POSSUM-able". Learn all about Michiana's only native marsupial, the Virginia Opossum.

10:30 a.m. - Get the "Stink on Skunks".

11:30 a.m. - Learn about worms and worm castings for fertilizer.

12:30 p.m. - "Rap with a Raptor". Get the scoop on native raptors.

1:30 p.m. - "Foxy Facts". Learn what makes native foxes so unique.

While visiting vendor booths, attendees will also be able to enjoy the Elkhart Conservation Club Sanctuary, meet some non-releasable wildlife ambassadors and their rehabilitators, and attend some informative wildlife educational programs.

Shop for wild and not-so-wild treasures.

• Shop a variety of vendors providing one-of-a-kind gifts to complete your holiday shopping list.

• Take home a treat or have lunch.

• Meet live animal ambassadors.

• Learn about native wildlife and some exotic animals.

• Learn about some of our local conservation organizations, such as Audubon Society, Woodlawn Nature Center. Branch Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, and Foxwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center will be present to answer questions and talk about what they do.

The Elkhart Conservation Club is located at 55515 Riviera Drive in Elkhart.
