Lemonade Day is returning to Elkhart County

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Junior Achievement is returning to Elkhart County for a tenth year to bring Lemonade Day and an opportunity to teach area youth about business and entrepreneurship.

Lemonade Day will offer Elkhart County youth an opportunity to use the basis of a Lemonade Stand to learn about business practices while partnering with local businesses.

This year, the group is partnering with all four Elkhart County Boys and Girls Clubs.

The Boys & Girls Club summer camp members will be able to go through the Lemonade Day curriculum and, with support of their parents or guardians, members can create and run their own Lemonade Stand.

Each of the four Boys and Girls clubs in Nappanee, Elkhart, Goshen and Middlebury will get unique Lemonade Day business experiences with local businesses.

The Nappanee Club is partnering with Rocket Science Ice Cream and will be selling Lemon Pie Ice Cream at Rocket Science Ice Cream on Saturday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Members will also be having their own Lemonade Stands for parents and other Club members at the Nappanee Club on July 20 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The Elkhart Club is partnering with Vanilla Bean Creamery and the flavor Lemon Blueberry Cobbler will be sold in the Elkhart and Granger locations beginning July 22.

The Goshen Club is partnering with Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn and The Chief Ice Cream.

Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn in Goshen will sell the student-created “Crazy Blue Lemonade” flavored popcorn through this Friday.

The Goshen Club members will visit The Chief on Friday at noon to see the production of their ice cream.

Their ice cream will be sold at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair.

The Middlebury Club is partnering with Legendary Grind.

Members will be selling coupons for a discount off of all the lemon pastries they have.

They will be on site to sell on July 28 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
