ELKHART, Ind. -- While many Catholic Schools were off for Easter Monday, St. Vincent de Paul in Elkhart started the day with tolling bells and ended with a moment of silence for Pope Francis.
Those bells rang in a number of important discussions about the Pope’s teachings, life, and death for the K-8 students.
“This morning we just sat on the floor together and I sat in my rocking chair and we just talked about how Pope Francis was definitely a People’s Pope, that he was an amazing example of the Catholic Church, and also just an amazing representation of Christ himself… he loved all people,” said 3rd Grade Teacher Stephanie Giglio.
