Firefighters responded to the JMS building in downtown South Bend Tuesday afternoon for reports of smoke.
Firefighters say building maintenance workers helped them find the issue. It was a light fixture that smelled like it was burning.
It was located on the lower level of the building.
There was minimal damage.
No one was injured.
Firefighters cleared the scene around 5:45 p.m. and reopened the roads.
