Lincoln Township Police advises residents to lock cars after early morning thefts

LINCOLN TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The Lincoln Township Police Department is advising residents to lock their car doors after multiple unlocked cars were ransacked and stolen from early Tuesday morning.

Several unlocked vehicles were ransacked between 3 and 8:30 a.m. and had items such as loose change, sunglasses and phone chargers stolen, along with garage door openers, according to officials.

One incident related to ransacking involved a pick-up and SUV being stolen from the driveway of a house on North Sierra Way in Stevensville.

Both vehicles were found at an apartment complex in Niles, Michigan with an additional car that had been stolen from Niles, driven to Lincoln Township and then driven back to Niles where is was left.

Police are reviewing Ring doorbell footage as well as processing the stolen cars for evidence.
