List of 2022 Memorial Day parades and ceremonies

A number of communities across Michiana are holding parades and ceremonies over Memorial Day weekend.

MICHIGAN

Berrien Springs, Michigan

American Legion Post 85 will hold a Memorial Day parade on May 30 at 10 a.m. followed by a ceremony at Rose Hill Cemetery. More info

Buchanan, Michigan

The Auxiliary American Legion-Buchanan Post 51 is holding a Memorial Day parade on May 30 at 10 a.m. The parade lines up in downtown Buchanan and ends in the Buchanan Cemetery. More info

Cassopolis, Michigan

The Cassopolis VFW Memorial Day Parade will be held on May 30 at 10 a.m. More info

Dowagiac, Michigan

The Masons of Peninsular Lodge #10 will host a Memorial Day parade and ceremony in Dowagiac on May 30 at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony starts at 10:30 a.m. at City Hall. After the ceremony, the parade will move to Riverside Cemetery for Veterans’ services. More info

Edwardsburg, Michigan

The Edwardsburg Memorial Day Parade will be held at 11 a.m. If you’d like to be in the parade, contact the Edwardsburg Fire Department. More info

Galien, Michigan

The Galien Memorial Day Parade will be held on May 30 at 1 p.m. in downtown. A tractor and lawn mower show will follow at 2 p.m. at the Galien American Legion Post #344 on North Cleveland Avenue. More info

Mendon, Michigan 

The Village of Mendon is hosting a Memorial Day parade on May 30 at noon. Veterans are invited to walk/ride in the parade. Meet at the Mendon Public Library at 11:30 a.m. to line up. More info

Niles, Michigan

American Legion Larue Messenger Post #26 will host a Memorial Day Parade on May 30 at 9 a.m. The parade starts at the corner of State Street and West Main, moving east on East Main, and ends at Silverbrook Cemetery. More info

Saint Joseph, Michigan

St. Joseph Today is holding a Memorial Day parade on May 27 at noon. The parade begins at the intersection of Lake Boulevard and Park Street and finishes at the John E.N. Howard Bandshell. A short program will follow at the bandshell. More info

South Haven, Michigan

Edward W. Thompson American Legion Post 49 will hold a Memorial Day parade on May 30 at 9 a.m. The parade starts at 0900 on Center Street, travels along Phoenix Street, and ends at Lakeview Cemetery. A ceremony will take place at the cemetery at 9:45 a.m. More info

Sturgis, Michigan

The City of Sturgis will hold a Memorial Day parade on May 30 at 10:30 a.m. The parade starts at the VFW on Fawn River Road, travels along South Nottawa Street, and ends at Oaklawn Park. More info


INDIANA

Elkhart, Indiana

The City of Elkhart will hold a Memorial Day service at Rice Cemetery on May 30 at 11 a.m. The Elkhart Memorial Day parade will follow at 2 p.m. The parade route is along Main Street from the post office to Lexington Avenue. More info

Goshen, Indiana

The Goshen Firefighters Association will hold a Memorial Day parade and ceremony on May 30. The parade begins at 9:45 a.m. at the Goshen Town Parking Lot. A ceremony will follow at 10 a.m. at the Goshen Cemetery. More info

Knox, Indiana

VFW Post 748 will host the annual 24-Hour Memorial Day Watch from 11 a.m. on May 29 to 12 p.m. on May 30. The opening ceremony begins at 11 a.m. on May 29 and the watch begins at 12 p.m. Those interested in signing up for a 30-minute time block to stand watch can sign up at the Post. More info

La Porte, Indiana

The City of La Porte’s Memorial Day ceremony will be held on May 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the Dennis F. Smith Amphitheater in Fox Park. The ceremony will feature a performance by the La Porte City Band. More info

Middlebury, Indiana

American Legion Post 210 will hold a Memorial Day parade on May 30 beginning at 10 a.m. The parade starts at Middlebury Elementary School and ends at Memorial Park. More info

Milford, Indiana

The Town of Milford’s Memorial Day parade will take place on May 30 at 10 a.m. More info

Mishawaka, Indiana

Due to construction, the annual Mishawaka Memorial Day parade has been cancelled. A number of cemetery services will be held throughout the day on May 30.

  • 10 a.m. – Little St. Joseph Cemetery
  • 10:15 a.m. – Mishawaka City Cemetery
  • 10:30 a.m. – VFW at Fairview Cemetery
  • 11 a.m. – Wreath ceremony on the footbridge at Battell Park

Nappanee, Indiana

The City of Nappanee will host its annual Memorial Day ceremony and parade on May 30 starting at 10:30 a.m. The parade begins on Centennial Street and travels to S.R. 19 before ending at City Hall. The memorial service starts at 11 a.m. at City Hall. More info

New Paris, Indiana

The New Paris Chamber of Commerce and the New Paris Boy Scouts, Troop 12 is hosting a Memorial Day parade and ceremony on May 29 at 2 p.m. The parade begins at 2 p.m. at the corner of Main and Market Streets and ends at the New Paris/Jackson Township Cemetery. The ceremony will begin at 2:15 p.m. at the cemetery and features a keynote address by U.S. Army Veteran and current Elkhart County Councilman Steven Clark. More info

New Prairie, Indiana

VFW 9423 will host a Memorial Day parade and gravesite ceremony on May 30 at noon. The parade will begin at Rolling Prairie Elementary and end at the cemetery. More info

Osceola, Indiana

The Osceola Business Association is holding a Memorial Day Parade on May 30 at 8 a.m. The parade will take place on Lincoln Way S.R. 933 between Osceola Avenue and Grand Avenue. Applications to participate in the parade are due by May 23. More info

Plymouth, Indiana

The City of Plymouth will host a Memorial Day ceremony on May 30 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Marshall County Courthouse. Another ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the New Oakhill Cemetery. More info
