LIVE STREAM: Guilty verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial

(ABC NEWS) -- The jurors have reached a verdict in the murder trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin after their first full day of deliberations Tuesday morning, according to ABC News.

The jury has found Chauvin guilty.

There are 12 jurors, 5 men and 7 women, deciding Chauvin's fate.

They heard nearly 3 weeks of testimony from 45 witnesses.

Prosecutors argued Chauvin used unreasonable deadly force, even as bystanders begged him to stop, and then failed to render medical aid to George Floyd.

The defense blamed Floyd's drug use and heart issues for his death -- saying Chauvin did what he was trained to do.

Ahead of the verdict, businesses have boarded up and local schools are remote learning as of Wednesday.
