Local businesses named "best places to work"

Five Michiana businesses made the Indiana’s best places to work list Tuesday.

The list, put out by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, included two South Bend businesses, one in Mishawaka, Granger and Warsaw.

“The focus from day one, 27 years ago, is to take care of the employees,” Bob Tadevich, CSO at Network Solutions, of Granger, said of his company.

Mishawaka company Pathfinders Advertising finds itself on the list for the second year in a row.

“You want to be here and enjoy being here,” Pathfinders VP Kelly Ball said.

A few minutes away in South Bend, Gibson insurance was also awarded. 

They say the key to a good work environment is a sense of ownership.

“Gibson is 100% employee owned, and that makes the level of engagement on a day to day basis outstanding,” Tania Begtsson, director of Marketing at Gibson, said.

Others say family ownership is the way to go, like Network Solutions and Inovateus Solar also in South Bend.

In addition to Network Solutions, Pathfinders, Inovateus and Gibson, Orthopediatrics in Warsaw also made the list.
