Local convicted murderer dies in prison

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Indiana Department of Corrections confirmed to ABC57 that Gauvin Monaghan died in February in Madison County.

The coroner said his cause and manner of death were undetermined.

Monaghan was sentenced to 65 years in prison back in 2017 for the murder of Paul Costello in Marshall County.

Costello's body was found inside a plastic drum on his own property on Nov. 5, 2016. His hands and feet had been tied. He suffered multiple skull and facial fractures.
