Local foodies get a 'Taste of Michiana'

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Some delicious recipes were whipped up in downtown South Bend.

Wednesday night was the annual Taste of Michiana at the Century Center.

The all you can eat and drink event features 26 local restaurants and wineries.

"This is going to be a big impact on the community and the economy. That's the thing. People are going to start going to more restaurants because they know what it's going to taste like. They're going to try other restaurants because of the Taste of Michiana," said Chef Bela Szalay.

Taste tickets went for $25.

Proceeds will go to the Life Treatment Center, which helps families deal with drug and alcohol addictions.

Organizers hope to raise $10,000.
