SOUTH BEND, Ind.--- The South Bend chapter of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity will be hosting its second annual Sleep Out Homelessness Drive this weekend. The three day event looks to raise money and supplies for South Bend's homeless population.
Beginning Friday at 3 p.m. members of the fraternity will be stationed at 812 East Jefferson Street with a bus looking to collect clothing and other items to donate. They will stay at that spot until Sunday at 3 p.m. sleeping outside in tents on the street.
The drive is part of a national Sleep Out Homelessness initiative where chapters of Phi Beta Sigma will be raising money and sleeping on the streets across the country. The South Bend chapter's goal is to raise 1,914 socks and $3,000 by the end of he weekend.
