Local high school volunteers for day of service

Knights Service Day started last year to celebrate Marian’s 50th anniversary but it was so successful that they’re doing it again this year and this time they were addressed by Paqui Kelly at a school rally.

She spoke with over 800 volunteers Thursday morning, from students and faculty, to parents as they got ready  for the second annual Knights Service Day.

Part of the mission of the Kelly Cares Foundation is to support initiatives that stress values of health, education, and community.

On Thursday, those values were well represented by Marian High School as students, parents, and faculty set off for a volunteering blitz.

The day of service lasts until noon and will feature over 40 schools, agencies, and senior facilities that will be on the receiving end of the services.
