Local Michiana brewery pitches new brew collaboration for banana ball

STEVENSVILLE, Mich. -- Local Michiana Brewery, Watermark Brewing Company, may have a collaboration in the works with one of the biggest sporting brands in the country, the Savannah Bananas.

“I was surprised to see it, but also not surprised at all,” Watermark bartender Jordan Oliver says. “The boys are crazy enough to make something like this happen.”

The boys Oliver is referring are Chris and Justin, who are the owners of Watermark.

Oliver says he has received one text message since their trip to Savanah, sounding a little like this.

“First thing he (Chris) said is when the Savanah Banana’s call, you go to Savanah,” Oliver says.

A Facebook post published by the brewing company Thursday, chronicled their trip to Savannah, saying:

“A random opportunity came our way a couple of weeks ago that almost felt unreal. But we don’t leave stones unturned. In a matter of days, we built a brand concept, printed a custom can, and made a fresh liquid specifically for the hottest thing in sports: Banana Ball!”

According to Co-owner, Chris Mason, nothing is set in stone yet, but the meeting was a great way to get a foot in the door while beginning collaborative efforts.

Mason added that the possible collaboration could be brought to fans as soon as the 2027 season.
