Local ministry to hold vigil for 4-month old Halo Stutzman
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A local prayer ministry is planning to hold a vigil for Halo Stutzman, a 4-month old infant who died earlier this month, Thursday night near her home.
Stutzman died July 12, two days after police found her not breathing inside of a home on the 1400 block of Dubail Avenue in South Bend.
Doctors say the baby girl's cause of death was oxygen deprivation to the brain.
Halo's father, 22-year old Bryan Alexander Michels, has been charged with felony child neglect of a dependent resulting in death. If found guilty, he could face up to 50 years in prison.
Loved ones and members of the community will gather at the corner of Vernon Street and Dubail Avenue at 5:30 p.m. Thursday for the vigil.
