Thundershowers tonight, a cooldown tomorrow following cold front
MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- A local nurse hailed as a hero for her quick-thinking after a car crash near Mishawaka High School.
Nicole Filippone saw the driver crash into a house on Lincoln Way East on Wednesday and she jumped into action.
She noticed the man was unconscious and she performed CPR until emergency crews arrived.
Filippone is a nurse at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
"I stopped because any person should stop. Like it was a scary situation, you don't know what the outcome could be,” said Filippone.
The 30-year-old driver is still in the hospital in serious condition.
