Local small businesses see big profit from 'Small Business Saturday'

NILES, Mich. -- Business owners have calculated how much money they made this past weekend during ‘Small Business Saturday’.

ABC 57 checked back with ‘Niles Styles’ on Main Street to see how the push to get locals through the door worked.

‘Small Business Saturday’ was a national campaign to get area businesses noticed. The owner says this year was the best so far kicking off the holiday shopping season.

"Our turnout was just phenomenal,” says Niles Styles Owner Christine Hoffman. “I was busy all day long into the evening, I’m normally not open in the evening, so I was just busy the whole day through."

Other business owners told ABC 57 they were very pleased with the weekend turnout. They hope that momentum will continue over the next few weeks leading up to Christmas Day.
