Local teachers prepping for ISTEP testing

Local elementary school teachers are getting ready for ISTEP testing.

On Wednesday, the testing window will open for every school in the state.

Teachers at Mishawaka say they are waiting until next week to begin testing students.

After the testing time was cut by a few hours, teachers say they are trying to get things organized to make sure the tests are administered properly.

“The teachers will now have to pay attention to weather their school is doing form one or form two. And we've clearly laid that out so as long as we follow that schedule, everything should be fine,” says Carolyn Freeman, Coordinator for Assessment and the High Ability Programs Mishawaka Schools.

The ISTEP test is expected to take roughly three days to finish.
