Local teachers receive Indiana state grant money

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.-- Some of the top schools in Indiana received a big chunk of money.

The first every Excellence in Performance for Teacher Grants were handed out in Indianapolis.

It recognizes great teachers by distributing $6,000,000 among 28 schools.

Three of the schools were local; Bremen, Goshen and Oregon-Davis districts will get money to give to teachers.

Steve Stephanoff The Assistant Superintendent of Noblesville Schools said, "Teachers who were already doing good work are now striving to do even better work. and so we are so pleased to have the opportunity to recognize and reward those teachers."

The state said the grant money will also help schools recruit and keep excellent teachers.
