Local Warsaw dog groomer donating beds to animal shelters
KOSCIUSKO, Ind.-- A Warsaw groomer is teaming up with her husband and best friend to donate beds to help animals in need.
For the past five years, Trueblood has taken advantage of Black Friday deals to find beds for animals in shelters who are either owner surrenders, neglected, and strays. This year due to COVID-19 they opted to buy the items online.
Wendy Trueblood, a dog groomer in Warsaw has always been an advocate for pet adoption, this cause of hers to donate beds to animal shelters started five years ago to give back.
“When we first started, we didn’t get as many because of course, we didn’t have the funds, but we still wanted to help. So we got just a few the first year, and then the second year we got a few more, and like I said my best friend and her daughter get beds as well and we combine forces to do it,” Trueblood said.
Every year during Black Friday, Wendy Trueblood, her husband, and her best friend have been buying beds to donate to animal shelters.
Using her own funds, donations and tips she’s received throughout the month of November she was able to raise over $700 and has bought over 100 beds this year to give to two animal shelters.
Trueblood said she will be taking the beds to the shelters on Thursday, Dec. 10 so the little pups will have beds for Christmas.
“This is a tradition, and it’s my absolute favorite thing to do, every year. Like I look forward to this every year. And I can’t see us stopping now, “Trueblood said.
